Beta testers this year will be the first witnesses as Bitdefender breaks new ground with a clean, touchscreen-friendly new interface, a suite of state-of-the-art maintenance and optimization tools, and Bitdefender Profiles - an ingenious addition that adapts the system’s performance to the user’s activity.
"Beta testing has been crucial to Bitdefender’s success and we’re aiming for a particularly creative, fertile testing round with this year’s innovation," said Bitdefender Chief Security Strategist Catalin Cosoi. "We have managed to introduce some major additions here with many of the new features. We expect our loyal beta testers from past years will be pleasantly surprised - and we know they will be thorough."
Beta testers stand to win prizes including a Microsoft Surface PRO 2 Tablet, a Samsung Galaxy S4 Smartphone a Bitdefender Lifetime Edition license and one of 100 Internet Security keys. The beta version of Bitdefender 2015 is available for download here.
The new Bitdefender Activity Profiles feature works to improve the user experience by tailoring system performance to the user’s activity, whether working, gaming, watching movies and more. Battery mode, meanwhile, is deployed when the battery is running low, optimizing Windows and the security software to save power.
The new Tune-Up module optimizes systems by tapping the power of the new cleanup tool One-Click Optimizer, boot enhancer Startup Optimizer and an improved version of PC Clean-Up, which clears out unnecessary to data to improve performance.
The new interface separates modules into Privacy, Protection and Tools categories for better organization, and it allows users to more quickly perform common tasks such as scanning, optimizing and updating. It also ensures smooth, uniform performance across all supported platforms and devices.
Bitdefender SafepayTM, the online transaction security guard, is enhanced with even tighter security as well as improved stability and performance, touchscreen compatibility and a range of tools for both convenience and safety. Bitdefender Wallet has been upgraded to extend support for personal information and allow users to search for keywords, the Vulnerability scanner now analyzes installed apps and details vulnerabilities and Parental Control now comes with cloud support and offers greater detail about Facebook activity.
